Have You Named Your Fairy Dog Parents Yet?

When our children are born, it has been a tradition to name God Parents. These are the people we trust the most and should something happen to us, it is the God Parents who would step up and take care of the kids.

With the rise in “Dog Parents” vs. “Dog Owners” – a big shift in the way we as a society view our pets, it has recently become a trend to name Fairy Dog Parents for our fur children the same way we designate God Parents for our human children.

These caretakers are often family or close friends who have fallen head over heels for your fuzzy friend just as you have. They may pet sit, enjoy going for walks with you and your dog, and treat them as a member of the family.

It is important and yet overlooked often during planning – we write a will, we designate beneficiaries for policies, and yet when it comes to your most valuable little loved one, they often end up “up for grabs”, when the unexpected happens. Choosing a Fairy Dog Parent or Parents is a great idea – let them know that they have been specifically chosen because you love and trust them.

Your Fairy Dog Parents can benefit from a written list as well of all the things that apply to your pet: Who their vet is, the number of their groomer, any medications they may be on, what kind of food they eat, and so on.

We sincerely hope that the day never comes when you have to call on these backup doggie parents, but it sure is nice to know that they are there for you and your pet.

At MY-BFF Mobile Grooming of Southwest Florida, we applaud this new trend. We love our clients – human and canine alike and want the best for them.

If you are in the Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Naples, Marco Island, Estero, or Bonita Springs area and would like to have a mobile groomer come to your home or residence, we invite you to give us a call at (239) 339-3056 or visit us online to learn more by going to www.MY-BFF.net.
